Grand Raid des Pyrénées See you in August 2024 from 21 to 25

About Us

The MAJUSCHULE Association (under the 1901 law) is registered with the Toulouse Prefecture under number W313008309.

Coming from diverse professional backgrounds and united by our love of running, mountain biking, multi-sport raids, hiking, skiing, marathon running, and nature, we have been organizing the GRAND RAID DES PYRENEES for almost two decades.

What are our values?

Mutual aid & solidarity – Integrity – Respect & friendliness – Gender equality – Good living & heritage – Respect for nature & the environment – Pushing oneself beyond one’s limits – Seriousness & professionalism – Fraternity – Transmission and sharing – International openness

Above all, we want to help people discover, appreciate, and promote our region through the most beautiful sites in the Pyrenees, while respecting our environment and always striving to preserve it.

Most of us have participated in numerous races throughout France, Spain, and elsewhere. We noticed that few long-distance races were organized in the Pyrenees, even though the terrain is ideal and it is well known that runners love to discover new landscapes, meet other runners (before, during, and even after the race), and above all, explore new “playgrounds.”

The permanent members of the Association are:

Caroline: A native of Normandy who fell in love with the Aure Valley as a child. La Géla, Néouvielle, and Vielle Aure were my first favorite hiking spots. During the event, you’ll find me on Vielle Aure and/or Les Merlans.

Sylvie: A mountain lover since childhood. She discovered trail running in 2008 and then the GRP in 2015 as a volunteer. An adventure that continues year after year.

Reine: Passionate about hiking and enchanted by the Aure Valley for over 40 years, I discovered the GRP, which is an incredible human adventure! Responsible for refreshments and finisher at Vielle Aure.

Mathilde: How did I go from basketball to trail running? Discovering the GRP during its second edition was enough. A passion was born. Experiencing the GRP from the inside is a privilege.

Ange: passionate about nature and an environmentalist from the very beginning. Website administrator for relations and communication with runners and GRP partners.

Brigitte: volunteer and accommodation management. A volunteer at aid stations for several years, she has experienced the runners’ adventures from the inside. For her, the GRP is, above all, a great human adventure.

Patricia: passionate about mountains and the Pyrenees in particular, she discovered the GRP somewhat by chance but fell in love with it; helps with logistics in the Gaves Valley.

Christian: involved in the GRP since its second edition, he is a member of the committee that sets the race routes throughout the year. With his team, he prepares the marking equipment for the various races (15,000 markers), and is also the Majuscule association’s representative for the Piau sector, responsible for children’s races and, for the first time since 2025, for the joëlette races.

François: lover of trail running and mountain hiking.

Hugues: honorary member – lover of trail running (several times UTMB, Grand Raid de la Réunion, Raid du Mercantour, Trail des Templiers, Trail des Citadelles) and mountain biking.

Kamel: passionate about mountains and hiking and lover of landscape photography. Involved in logistics in the Gaves Valley before and during the event.

Michel: trail running enthusiast (no more than 120 km so my knees hold up) but also road running (no more than 20 km so training isn’t too long), hiking and ski touring (without a backpack that’s too heavy so my back holds up too). I like to stay holed up in the race headquarters during the 72 hours of the GRP.

Philippe: Passionate about nature in general and more specifically about the Pyrenees, the Aure Valley, and Vielle-Aure, where I discovered the magical GRP event. Involved in logistics in the Aure Valley.

Romain: Trail running and mountain enthusiast. A Catalan who fell in love with Néouvielle! I have participated in every edition of the GRP, either as a runner or as a volunteer in various roles. I love exploring the mountains to find new routes that will challenge runners’ legs and delight their eyes!

Simon: lover of trail running, mountain biking, and especially multi-sport raids, one participation in the Diag, several participations in world-class raids (Raid In France, Mountain X-Race, Raid Bimbache), and numerous mountain outings in the Pyrenees.
