Course of Tour du Néouvielle 2017

New course for 2017:

  • Based largely on the Tour des Lacs, the Tour du Néouvielle offers the possibility of discovering the beauty of the GRP routes
  • Return on Vielle Aure modified, with a descent by the Cap de Pède
  • Technique and demand of the trail, characteristic of the trails in the Hautes-Pyrénées

Attention: the course has many parts on a mountain trail where it is not easy to run


Friday, August 25

13:00 – 19:00: Removing bibs and checking bags of the Tour du Néouvielle (Marquee of the race) – Partner Village

18:30 – 20:30: Pasta Party

Saturday 26 August

06:00 – 07:30: Removing bibs and checking bags of the Tour du Néouvielle (place to be defined)

08:00: Departure of the Tour of Neouvielle from the center of Saint Lary Soulan (Tourist Office)

12:30: Arrival of the first Tour du Neouvielle on the Place de Vielle-Aure

20:00: Arrival of the last Tour du Néouvielle

20:00: Award ceremony of the Tour of Neouvielle (Place de Vielle-Aure)

Sunday, August 27

12:15: Buffet closing of the Grand Raid of the Pyrenees in the presence of all partners and volunteers (Marquee of the race)

Composition of refueling

In the Merlans restaurant: oranges, bananas, bread, cheese, ham, sausage, dried fruit, salt cakes, cakes, chocolate in tablet, plain water, sparkling water, coke, tea, coffee and soup

At the refuge of Bastan: water only.


The start will be given on Saturday 26 August at 8 am from the center of Saint-Lary-Soulan. The runners will climb by roads and then ski slopes at the Col du Portet. They will then switch to the Néouvielle sector to reach the Lac de l’Oule as well as the Tour des Lacs. Then we turn right to cross the Hourquette de Caderolles, then the Col de Bastanet, join the shelter of Bastanet then Merlans and the Col de Portet which brings back to Vielle Aure by the crest of Cap de Pède.

The best ones could take less than 5 hours while the time barrier is set so that the last ones end in less than 12 hours.
