Warning: the course has many parts on mountain paths where it is not easy to run, especially towards the Pas de la Crabe and the col de Bastanet.
Description
Start Thursday 7 am from the Pla d’Adet. Uphill to Col de Portet on ski slopes. Entering the Néouvielle area with a descent to the lac de l’Oule.
Direction the lac de Port Bielh going uphill through the fir forest of Bastanet and reaching the Hourquette Nère.
After one kilometer downhill, a tough climb to the Pas de la Crabe and his scree. Caution is required uphill and downhill. Arriving to the aid station of la Mongie on ski slopes.
Tough up and down to go through the feared Serpolet. After that a great push through the rocks to pass the aid station at the Campana de Cloutou hut and reach the col de Bastanet.
Descent towards the lacs de Bastan and a near flat trail takes you back to les Merlans. Last push to col de Portet and long descent to the finish line in Vielle Aure.
The bests could finish under 5 hours. Time barriers are calculated for a 16 hours finish.
