New event for 2017:
Based on sections of the already existing Grand Raid of the Pyrenees, the Pyrenees Tour Trail offers the possibility of discovering the beauty of GRP routes over several days with distances of 5 to 40 km according to the stages

Thursday 24 August
7:30: Transfer shuttles for the start of the second stage of the Pyrenees Tour Traill from Vielle-Aure
09:00: departure of the second stage of the Pyrenees Tour Trail from the center of Piau Engaly
11:00 – 14:00: Arrival of the second stage of the Pyrenees Tour Trail from the center of Piau Engaly
13:00 – 14:00: return of the runners of the second stage of the Pyrenees Tour Trail by shuttles from Piau Engaly
15:00 – 16:00: Departures (every 20 s in order of classification) of the third stage of the Pyrenees Tour Trail from the center of Vignec
15:30 – 17:30: staggered arrivals of the third stage of the Pyrenees Tour Trail in Pla d’Adet Saint Lary Soulan

Saturday 26 August
07:00 – 08:00: Departures from the 5th stage of the Pyrenees Tour Neuvielle Trail Tour from the center of Saint Lary Soulan (Tourist Office), in order of the previous day’s classification
11:30: Arrival of the first of the fifth stage of the Pyrenees Tour Trail on the Place de Vielle-Aure
20:00: Arrival of the last of the fifth stage of the Pyrenees Tour Trail
20:00: Award ceremony of the Pyrenees Tour Trail (Place de Vielle-Aure)
Sunday, August 27
12:15: Buffet closing of the Grand Raid of the Pyrenees in the presence of all partners and volunteers (Marquee of the race)
Composition of refueling
In Piau, La Mongie and Merlans restaurant: oranges, bananas, bread, cheese, ham, sausage, dried fruit, savory cakes, cakes, tablet chocolate, plain water, sparkling water, coca, Coffee and soup
At the refuge of Bastan and the shelter of Campana: water only.
Description of Steps
Stage 1
The first stage is 13 km for 850 m of D +.
From Vielle-Aure, the runners go up to Soulan by Vignec and the Granges de Lias. The descent is made by the Granges de Grascouéou.
The max time is 2h30. There is an hourly barrier at Soulan (Km 6,5, 250 m D +) which must be passed in less than one hour. No refueling.
Required material:
– a lamp
– survival coverage (minimum 2 m2)
– whistle

2nd stage
The second stage is 20 km for 1500 m of D +.
From Piau, the runners climb to the top of the station on the Circus Circus route, return to the center of Piau, descend to Aragnouet, go up the Badet valley to the lake of the same name before returning to the point of Departure for an arrival in Piau.
The max time is 5h. There is a time barrier at the intermediate pass at Piau (Km 8,5, 800 m D +) which must be passed in less than 2h. Refueling at intermediate crossing at Piau and arrival.

– personal cup for drinking liquids (water, coca and soup) at refreshments
– survival cover (minimum 2 m2)

Stage 3

Stage 4
The fourth stage is 34 km for 2876 m of D +, the altitude of the Pic du Midi.
Starting from the Pla d’Adet, the riders follow the course of the Ultra Tour to the top of the Pic du Midi, via Merlans, Col de Bastanet, Mongie and Col de Sencours.
The max time is 10h. There is a time barrier at Merlans (Km 7, 700 m D +) that you must pass in less than 1h45, a barrier at the Mongie (Km 23, 1500 m D +) that you must pass in less than 6h30 and a Barrier to the Col de Sencours (Km 30, 2400 m D +) which must be passed in less than 9h. Refreshments in Merlans and La Mongie.

– food reserve
– survival cover (minimum 2 m2)

– waterproof and breathable jacket, membrane type or coating (jacket type KWAY or poncho not accepted)

Stage 5
The fifth stage is 43 km for 2400 m of D +, and takes exactly the route of the Tour of Neouvielle. The complete description is HERE.
